As he walked towards her, the darkness writhed around him like angry snakes, though the emotion was not reflected on his calm face.
"I am growing tired of your defiance" he said without using his mouth. The voice he used was as calm as midnight and did not seem to fit the rage coursing through the shadows.
"I'd be happy to stop," taunts Kia, "if you'd let my friend Mr. Brave take back his body."
"No," he said immediately, "I will not go back to being powerless and locked up in his head!"
"Well I don't much fancy spending the rest of my life running from my friend." She shot back.
His eyes narrowed and glowed a deep purple, he trusted his hand towards her as if to grab her throat even though she was well out of his reach. Still she felt a pressure on her neck as if a giant hand were gripping her just below her chin. He raised his arm and she rose off the ground until her feet dangled an inch above the emerald grass. A dark cloud gathered around his feet and he floated up to meet her nose-to-nose.
"I don't recall saying that I would let you leave," he said with his mouth, his voice dripping with intimidation.
"I...didn't ask...for your...permission." She gasped through the force compressing her throat.
He thrust his hand towards the ground and she followed it's motion. She hit the ground hard and was held there by the pressure on her neck. As stars popped around her field of vision and her sight swam, the blackness closed in around her and the last sight she saw was his blurred form bending over her in clear triumph.
